Most industrial sectors have the same problem: the active ingredients used in manufacturing are degradable and easily oxidizable under certain conditions. This makes it necessary to develop strategies to increase stability and handling, and this is where our work starts. Encapsulation's main purpose is getting the molecule intact and functioning to the consumer.

Encapsulation is an essential process used for insecticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and repellents. To cover these needs Sphera Encapsulation offers a variety of solutions in the field of R&D, quality control and production. Always attentive to sustainability and the environment, we support our partners in the formulation of innovative and safe for handling and use products. 

New and better molecules for plant treatment are currently being brought on the market. But efficient delivery remains a challenge, especially for field applications. Current delivery systems cannot provide targeted delivery inside plant cells, are often not biodegradable and provide limited customization. Crop care products are therefore associated with substantial run-off into the environment. Only one third of fertilizers and <0.1% of pesticides reach their target. This leads to enormous amounts of chemica! and product waste, as well as high costs. 

To combat this issue, we created a targeted, biodegradable particle for crop inputs, which can uniquely penetrate the plant cell wall and deliver cargo inside. Our technology increases the bioavailability of crop inputs, so the active ingredients are delivered in the right place at the right time.
