Econutri GmbH was founded in 2021. The target of the company is production of CO2 based single cell protein (SCP) based on gas fermentation using a chemolithoautotrophic bacterium. The SCP will be marketed either as protein rich biomass as protein source for feed or as further processed protein preparation for food applications. Currently we have established a pilot plant production unit with a specifically designed gas bioreactor (300 L scale) allowing pressurized safe fermentation with a gas atmosphere consisting of H2, O2 and CO2.
