BIC Deputy Director is Vice Chair of European WG on lead markets for chemicals

BIC's Marco Rupp has been elected as Vice-Chair of the newly established Working Group on lead markets at the first General Assembly of the Critical Chemicals Alliance (CCA).

The CCA is tasked with implementing the European Chemicals Industry Action Plan adopted by the European Commission on 8 July 2025. 

In addition to the CCA Steering Board,  Working Groups will carry out work on four specific high priority areas: 

  1. Lead markets
  2. Critical molecules and critical sites
  3. Trade
  4. Modernisation and investments

The Working Group on lead markets will elaborate market pull measures to support the uptake of cleaner chemical products, and, in particular, by using non-virgin fossil source. The group will be chaired Janine van Kampen from the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate.
