BIC joins industry coalition calling for a technology-neutral definition of biomanufacturing in Biotech Act I

Joint Statement on Biotech Act I

BIC has co-signed a joint letter with 11 other European bioeconomy associations, welcoming the ITRE-SANTE draft report on Biotech Act I and its broad recognition of Europe's biomanufacturing base from health biotechnology to bio-based chemicals, materials, and biofuels.

The coalition backs Amendment 12, which defines "biomanufacturing" in technology-neutral terms, and urges MEPs to preserve this definition throughout the legislative process and into the forthcoming Biotech Act II.
