BIC Trend Report 2024-2025

The EU’s leadership in technology and biomanufacturing innovation is transformative and enables Europe’s longterm competitiveness and strategic autonomy. To position the EU as a global leader for economic growth and prosperity, it is essential to drive innovation and sustainability across key sectors and industrial processes.

The BIC Trend Report 2024-2025 contains policy recommendations, formulated with the outcome of a workshop with EU bioeconomy stakeholders (included representatives from the European institution, NGOs, think tanks and private sector companies) and taking inspiration from global developments in biotech and biomanufacturing. There are business examples of biomanufacturing which serve as case studies. Interviews cover the use of artificial intelligence in biomanufacturing and the textile industry.

We hope that the tangible business cases and solid policy recommendations can serve as a roadmap for improving and increasing biomanufacturing based on best practices and commercial needs.
