Paques Biomaterials is an innovative start-up company focusing on the scale-up and commercialization of PHBV bioplastic production from industrial and municipal waste streams. Paques Biomaterials is an independent SME company that spun out of Paques in 2021. Paques Biomaterials is located in the BioBizz Hub, an accelerator facility located on the premises of Paques in Balk, The Netherlands. Paques Biomaterials counts with its own IP on PHBV production using mixed microbial cultures (MMC), from biological PHBV accumulation in bacteria, up to extraction and even application of PHBV. Our goal is to implement, together with industries and municipalities, PHBV biomass production plants located where the waste streams are produced. The PHBV biomass will then be taken-up by Paques Biomaterials that will process it, either for direct application as PHBV biomass (Raw PHBV) or for extraction and production of a pure and tuned PHBV (Caleyda).
