Bio-based Energy Technologies (BIO2CHP)
BIO2CHP develops fully automated and modular biomass gasifier for the production of fuels and energy. BIO2CHP is a spin-out of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece developes a gasification technology that allows the utilization of low quality biomass for small-scale and on-site valorization. The core of our proposition stands on the tech's flexibility regarding the feedstock used focusing on high-ash content residues. So far, we have validated the technology on several waste streams. A 5kW prototype unit has operated for more than 3,000 hours both in the lab and an industrial site, utilizing grape pomace, olive and peach kernels and almond shells. Recently we have developed and demonstrated two 25kWe pilot units, one for winery waste and one for solid digestate from biogas plants.
