WAI Environmental Solutions AS (WAI) is a green technology company with headquarter in Tønsberg, Norway. Founded in 2017, WAI has been focusing on development of biogenic carbon materials, pyrolysis and carbonization technologies, and biocarbon/heat/electricity co-production facilities under our brand name of CarbonWorks. 

We design, build, own and operate CarbonWorks plants, where sawmill by-products and waste wood are processed with WAI pyrolysis and converted into biocarbon, heat (hot water and steam) and electricity. 

WAI promotes applying biocarbon in metallurgical industries as reductants for fossil carbon replacement and helps metallurgical industries to meet their decarbonization goals. Meantime, WAI is leading several sizable development projects for biogenic carbon materials production including production of advanced anode materials for sodium-ion battery and production of single-cell-protein (SCP) for aquafeed industry. WAI has a fully owned subsidiary located in Suzhou, China.
