ADM (Biopolis)
ADM - BIOPOLIS, S.L. is a biotech company providing research, development and production services for the agri-food, pharmaceutical, chemical and energy industries.
Biopolis is a privately-held company, founded in 2003 as a spin-off of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), the largest public research institution in Spain, with three industrial partners: CAPSA (Corporación Alimentaria Peñasanta), Talde venture capital, and Naturex España S.A. This structure provides an excellent balance between the CSIC’s quality scientific R & D and the industrial and financial partners’ expertise in business management and productivity. The participation of all these partners in a single private biotech enterprise guarantees its efficient and flexible structure. Their mission is to seek solutions which provide improved food, drugs, cosmetics or chemical processes.
Tailor-made biotechnology is the company motto. Wide-ranging solutions are provided by a highly qualified multidisciplinary team with proven expertise in the fields of biochemistry, molecular biology, fermentation process scale up, genetics, chemical engineering, microbiology, food technology and nutrition.
The company is expanding due to its provision of outsource R&D services and production with growing market demand. Accordingly, Biopolis has invested in new facilities (1500 m2) housing highly specialized laboratories and has increased its fermentation and production capacity to over 9000 litres. Biopolis provides services to agri-food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries, as well and energy and environment sectors, and public research centres.
