Sahar Babaeipour, Erfan Kimiaei and Zahraalsadat Madani are Team ZeoPack from the University of Aalto in Finland.
ZeoPack aims to develop paper-based absorbents, derived from renewable resources and natural minerals to prevent excessive food waste as well as keeping fruits and vegetables fresh by suppressing the ripening process. Our proposed technology is based on conversion of paper wastes to produce value-added papers with high porosity and surface area enabling the incorporation of zeolite into its structure.
The concept of their technology is catalytic degradation of ethylene gas to increase the shelf life of fruits and vegetables.
