Sharon Bergeman, Nicolas Decrêm, Kira Tolstych and Siebe van Wunnik from the University of Gent in Belgium make up Team Haircycle.

Human hair is a material considered useless in most societies and therefore is found in the municipal waste streams in almost all cities and towns of the world. However, hair consists of many useful elements such as amino acids. The team's project is about collecting hair waste from hairdressers, prisons, hospitals, etc. in cities by bicycle. Then retrieving amino acids out of the hair and using them as bio-stimulants in plant growth.
