
BIC will co-organise and host the European final of the Bio-based Innovation Student Challenge Europe (BISC-E) for the second consecutive year. The final will take place virtually during BIC’s industry networking event – BioSYNERGISE on 20 October.
This year a record number of six national student teams will participate (Belgium, Finland, Greece, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands) with Greece and Spain participating for the first time.
A preselection of the top three teams by the expert jury will take place on Monday,19 October. The top three teams will then present their projects the following day to an audience of bio-based industry representatives who will vote for the winning team.
The expert jury consists of:

• Dr. George Sakellaris (CZ), Academy of Sciences Czech Republic
• Manfred Kircher (DE), Wageningen University
• Kevin O’Connor (IE), University College Dublin (UCD) and the Irish National Bioeconomy Research Centre (BEACON)
