Stora Enso’s customers include the packaging, joinery and construction industries as well as publishers, printing houses and paper merchants. Products include liquid and food packaging packaging board, pulp for replacement of cotton in textiles, wooden building and interior solutions, crude tall oil, turpentine, bio energy (pellets, bio heat and bio power).
Stora Enso invests in R&D activities, bringing environmental benefits such as improved resource efficiency and minimised environmental footprints. Health and safety aspects also direct the product development, especially for packaging materials used in direct contact with foodstuffs.
Stora Enso is partner in the BBI JU projects ‘EFFORTE’ (Efficient forestry by precision planning and management for sustainable environment and cost-competitive bio-based industry), ‘PROVIDES’ (PROcesses for Value added fibres by Innovative Deep Eutectic Solvents) and Celluwiz (Process developments for a recyclable and compostable all-cellulose multilayer material for packaging).
